Rhys Duncan and Dara Foody accepted as tenants
July 21, 2026

We are delighted to announce that Rhys Duncan and Dara Foody have accepted offers of tenancy at Tanfield Chambers. Both will join as tenants on completion of their pupillages in September 2026.

Rhys and Dara will accept instructions across chambers’ core practice areas of property litigation, landlord and tenant, leasehold enfranchisement, commercial and chancery work.

Rhys was supervised during his pupillage by Carl Fain, Sam Madge-Wyld and Martin Young, and Dara by Nora Wannagat, Carl Fain and Daniel Dovar. Throughout their pupillages both have demonstrated outstanding ability, professionalism and commitment, and have already contributed a great deal to the life of chambers.

Andrew Butler KC, Head of Chambers, said:

Rhys and Dara have been an absolute pleasure to have as pupils and they have already shown all the qualities we look for in tenants at Tanfield — first-class ability, sound judgement and a genuine collegiality. I am unsurprised that members have voted unanimously to offer them tenancy and I know they have very bright futures ahead.

Everyone at Tanfield warmly congratulates Rhys and Dara on this well-deserved achievement and we look forward to welcoming them as the newest members of chambers.
