Overview

Thomas commenced practice at Tanfield Chambers in October 2024 and accepts instructions across the full range of chambers’ practice areas including private client, insolvency, commercial and property disputes.

Having undertaken a commercial chancery pupillage with a practising second six, Thomas has gained experience across a broad cross-section of work during pupillage including but not limited to:

  • Contentious trusts and probate;
  • Bankruptcy and winding up petitions;
  • Residential and commercial landlord and tenant;
  • Real property;
  • Company/commercial.

Prior to his career as a barrister, Thomas has many years’ experience both as a practising artist and working for an international gallery in the commercial art world. He holds first class degrees in both Fine Art, Sculpture from the University of Edinburgh and Law from the University of Glasgow, before completing his Bar studies at City Law School with distinction.

Beyond the law, Thomas enjoys maintaining his art practice as a hobby and all manner of outdoor pursuits such as hiking, swimming and sailing.
