Tanfield Chambers’ Junior Landlord and Tenant Conference returns for its sixth year.

Tickets are now available, email events@tanfieldchambers.co.uk to book your place.

This ever popular event provides junior lawyers with the opportunity to update their knowledge across commercial and residential landlord and tenant law.

As in previous years, the content of the event is tailored to junior practitioners. Delegates will be able to choose from a number of different workshops, which will each cover practical issues that are most likely to arise within a junior landlord and tenant’s practitioner’s caseload. The subjects will cover both commercial and residential issues giving the delegates the opportunity to focus on either or both. At the end of the day, delegates will also have the opportunity to ask Tanfield barristers (including QCs) questions about points arising within their own practices within a question and answer session.

Topics will include:

  • Rights of First Refusal
  • Service Charges: Practical Considerations
  • The effect of CVAs on Landlords
  • FTT Managers
  • Tenant Fees Act 2019
  • RTM in badly managed buildings
  • Land registration essentials: an introduction to mistakes on the register
  • An update of the most important landlord and tenant decisions in 2019

What you will learn:

  • The recent developments in commercial and residential landlord and tenant law
  • How to avoid making the common errors made by practitioners in the subject workshops
  • Litigation strategy and tactics in the subject workshops
