Overview
Andrew Martin joined Chambers in September 2023 upon successful completion of pupillage, during which he was supervised by Carl Fain, Katie Gray, Piers Harrison, and Richard Granby, and gained experience in a wide range of Chambers’ practice areas.
Andrew has appeared as sole counsel in the High Court, County Court, and First-tier Tribunal. His practice encompasses real property, landlord and tenant, commercial and company disputes, including:
- Commercial landlord and tenant, including forfeiture, leasehold covenant disputes, and 1954 Act renewals;
- Residential landlord and tenant, including forfeiture, leasehold covenant disputes, and service charge and management disputes;
- Trusts of land and proprietary estoppel;
- Easements, profits à prendre, and restrictive covenants;
- Adverse possession, trespass, and boundary disputes;
- Land registration issues;
- Enfranchisement, lease extensions, and rights of first refusal;
- Mortgages.
- Professional negligence (particuarly property-related disputes); and
- Building Safety Act 2022
Prior to commencing his pupillage, Andrew worked in a boutique litigation firm specialising in commercial disputes and then as judicial assistant to the Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Phillips in the Court of Appeal.
Outside of the law, Andrew enjoys both playing and watching sport, particularly cricket and tennis.
