Win for Tanfield in condominium appeal
In Metaxides v Swart & Others [2015] UKPC 32, Chris Maynard led the team for the successful first appellant, Apollon Metaxides. On 14 July 2015 the Privy Council handed down a judgment agreeing with their argument that the Court of Appeal in the Bahamas had been wrong to decide that earlier, separate proceedings in the Supreme Court of the Bahamas had been a nullity and that a consent order made in those proceedings was of no effect. The case will now have to return to the Court of Appeal to deal with other issues.
