Philip Rainey KC appointed as Deputy High Court Judge

Tanfield is delighted to share that Philip Rainey KC has been appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge, with effect from 1 September 2025, and assigned to the Chancery Division.

The Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Rt Hon Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill, has appointed 24 Deputy High Court Judges under section 9(4) of the Senior Courts Act 1981, each for a single fixed six-year term, following an open competition run by the Judicial Appointments Commission.
