Peter D Cameron appointed as an arbitrator to ICSID panel

Peter D Cameron, an associated tenant at Tanfield, has been appointed as an arbitrator to a panel at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Peter is a specialist in energy law and has acted as an expert witness in more than two dozen arbitral and court proceedings. He has delivered testimony before the LCIA, the ICC in Paris, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Institute. The subject matter of ICSID Case No ARB/16/18, Infracapital F1 S.a.r.l. and Infracapital Solar B.V. v Spain, is investment in photovoltaic plants, and is brought under the Energy Charter Treaty. It concerns legal reforms affecting the renewable energy sector, including a 7 per cent tax on power generators’ revenues and a reduction in subsidies for renewable energy producers.
