Paper Sift

Your covering letter should address your motivation to join Tanfield, your experience of work in our core practice areas, and details of your practice to date including areas of specialism.
Your application should be accompanied by (appropriately redacted) details of:
- 3 years of work done;
- 3 years of work billed;
- 3 years of receipts;
- A diary print out for the forthcoming six months;
- Two examples of written work (i.e. a statement of case, skeleton argument and/or written Advice
Work samples should be representative of your practice and should demonstrate knowledge of our core practice areas. If you are seeking to expand your practice into one of our core practice areas then a representative sample of your current work will be accepted, provided you address your motivation to practice in our core practice areas in your covering letter.
Interview
Candidates will be interviewed by members of the Recruitment Committee. The interview will include a problem question scenario.
Final stage
Following interview, the Recruitment Committee will recommend any successful candidate to the Governance Board who will ballot members of Chambers to approve the recommendation.
It is anticipated that the process from application to approval will last approximately 4 weeks.
