We are looking to recruit a Practice Assistant to join our team immediately.

The successful candidate will be conscientious, hard-working, and enthusiastic; you will also be capable of working as part of a team as well as using your own initiative. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in starting a career as a barrister’s clerk.

Duties for this role will include:

  • Sorting and dealing with incoming and outgoing DX and post.
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing emails
  • Transportation of documents to and from court (including lodging documents)
  • Photocopying and preparing bundles for court
  • Assist in maintaining office supplies
  • Liaising with courts to check listings
  • Recording incoming and outgoing papers (briefs/instructions) on Lex
  • Answering telephone calls and assisting clients with enquiries where appropriate (in time and subject to performance this will also include booking cases into the pupil/junior barristers’ diaries)
  • Cover reception when required.
