The theme this year is “Commercial Property – Where Next?” – an overview of the commercial property landscape following Covid-19.

As in previous years, the content of the event is tailored to any professionals involved in the property industry, including solicitors, surveyors and developers.

Alongside plenary sessions, delegates will be able to choose from several different workshops addressing the practical issues likely to arise when dealing with commercial property, especially as we emerge from the pandemic. The workshops will give delegates the opportunity to consolidate on areas in which they already practice or to  focus on areas which are new to them.

At the end of the day, delegates will also have the opportunity to ask Tanfield barristers (including QCs) questions about points arising within their own practices during a question and answer session.

The full programme will be announced in the coming weeks.

Topics will include:

  • Valuation issues in business lease renewals
  • Covid rent arrears recovery
  • Implications of the electronic communications code for commercial property
  • Commercial land deals and tax considerations
  • Consents to assign, alter, or change use – what constitutes unreasonable refusal
