Andrew Butler will examine developments in property-related professional negligence cases in the course of 2016 and the early part of 2017.
Tim Polli will speak specifically on the case of Gabriel v Little which has recently been heard by the Supreme Court and will anticipate – or analyse! – the outcome of this significant case.
Andrew’s practice combines Tanfield’s Real Property and Commercial expertise, with particular emphasis on professional negligence and property damage cases. Ranked for many years in the legal directories for real estate litigation, he has appeared in a number of important cases in the last 12 months, including Fresca Judd v Golovina [2016] 4 WLR 107, Dawnus SL v Timis {2016] EWCA Civ 1066 and Wells v Devani [2016] EWCA Civ 1106. He also contributed, at RIBA’s invitation, to its 2016 CPD programme, giving a nationwide series of seminars on construction contracts. One such presentation was described by a delegate as ‘the most entertaining presentation I have attended for some time’ – an endorsement which Andrew hopes was given for the right reasons.
Recommended in the legal directories for his “razor-sharp intellect” and the way he “holds the Court’s attention” when on his feet, Tim is a specialist litigator in all things property and property-related. He has acted in claims against solicitors, surveyors, engineers and architects in relation to property transactions, construction projects and joint venture developments; and has appeared in all levels of Court up to and including the Supreme Court
